Reckoner

Named after one of my favorite Radiohead songs the Reckoner is a bit different than the other guitars I have built. Looking around the site you might notice that I lean toward the Gibson aesthetic, however, as I was drawing guitar shapes and kept coming back to this one. While refining the design I realized it was almost a dyslexic Fender Jazzmaster and I just decided to go with it. I’ve always been fascinated by the Rhythm/Lead switch on the Jazzmasters so it had to be a part of the design too. What is does is essentially give you a preset for the neck pickup that you can set with independent volume and tone controls as well as have the typical options with the 3 way switch, volume and 2 tone knobs. The tone knobs are pull pots that split the coils which adds even more sonic options.

More video demos soon but for now hear Thom Yorke playing the song Reckoner on his Reckoner here.
